Gallstones/Kidney Stones, Urinary Tract Stones
▶ What are Gallstones?
The main component of most gallstones is generally cholesterol, a fat (lipid) that dissolves in bile (Bililubin, which does not dissolve in water).
These microcrystals accumulate in the gallbladder and clump together to form solid particles.
Another type of gallstone forms and synthesizes in the same manner, becoming calcium compounds or bilirubin (the major pigment in bile) along with calcium that does not completely decompose.
These are called pigment stones. Stones composed of bilirubin appear black (formed in the gallbladder) or brown (formed in the bile ducts). Black pigment stones are more likely to occur in people with alcoholic liver disease, older age, or hemolytic anemia (which occurs when the body destroys red blood cells prematurely).
※ Symptoms of Gallstones
Indigestion (especially after meat), loss of appetite
Bad breath (smell of bilirubin, a digestive enzyme, similar to the smell of flatulence)
Pain at the pit of the stomach after meals, pain in the center of the back
Unexplained weight loss, etc.
※ Self-reported Symptoms
Pain after meals gradually subsides
Appetite returns to normal
Bad breath disappears
▶ What are Kidney Stones and Urinary Stones?
Stones are hard lumps that form anywhere in the urinary tract, such as the bladder, and cause pain, bleeding, infection, or blockage of urine flow.
Small stones may be asymptomatic, but larger stones can cause severe pain in the area between the back ribs and the hip joint.
Urinary stones begin in the kidneys and can enlarge in the ureters or bladder; depending on the location of the stone, they are called kidney stones, urethral stones, or nephrolithiasis.
※ Symptoms of Urinary Stones
Lower abdominal pain
Sweating
Bloody traces in urine
Frequent Urination (frequent urination), etc.

Gallbladder & Kidney ``Stone Melt`` HL 402
